selecting a veterinarian

Discover Below The 8 factors you should be taking into consideration when
You are looking for a Geneva veterinarian (or a veterinarian Geneva Area)

As a young boy, I was heartbroken when my beloved dog Prince passed away due to the neglect

of several veterinarians who chose quick fixes over finding the root cause of his illness.

That night, as I held Prince in my arms, I made a promise to him and myself that I would become

a veterinarian and do everything in my power to ensure that no pet would have to suffer the same fate.

Years later, I have dedicated my life to providing the best possible care for animals, and I want to help others

make informed decisions when choosing a veterinarian for their furry family members.

Below, I will share the 8 factors to consider when searching for a Geneva veterinarian to ensure that your

pet receives the highest quality of care.

We'll explore these critical aspects and provide tips so you can make an informed decision when selecting

a Geneva veterinarian for your animal.

Let me guide you in finding the ideal veterinarian for your beloved pet.

Your animal’s well-being could depend on it.

Rather than treating the symptom of a problem, why not go one step further

and try to find out what caused it in the first place?

Through understanding the deeply rooted causes of our animal's health issues and

tackling those at their core, we can ensure that our beloved pets experience a state

of wellbeing as intended by nature.

Your Pets’ Well-being Cure:

The Ancient Chinese Wellness Program for

Helping Animals Feel Their Very Best

Geneva veterinarians who practice acupuncture are knowledgeable in ancient Chinese medicine used to

treat pain and improve health.

Acupuncture involves placing tiny needles into specific areas of an animal's body to stimulate healing.

This technique can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including arthritis, respiratory problems, digestive issues,

and more.

If your pet suffers from chronic or acute illness, selecting a Geneva veterinarian with experience

in acupuncture is important.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
As a veterinarian located only minutes away from the center of Geneva in Mies, I believe in combining

traditional Western science with alternative healing, and acupuncture is one of the tools I use to treat my patients.

The ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture can alleviate pain, improve circulation, and address digestive issues,

allergies, lamness, skin problems, anxiety, and more.

During acupuncture treatment for pets, we gently place tiny needles or stimulate using electricity or acupressure points

on the body's energy pathways called meridians. Stimulating these points can release endorphins and other natural chemicals

that promote animal relaxation and well-being to target problem areas in the body.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva

Acupuncture can be done also without needles

If you're wondering if acupuncture can be performed without needles, the answer is YES

Light electric stimulation is an excellent alternative to needles, as it works by applying a hand-held device

to the acupoints (specifically chosen body locations) without the animal feeling any discomfort.

The treatment can range from single sessions to ongoing therapies depending on your pet’s needs.

I believe acupuncture is a gentle and effective way to treat and maintain your pets’ well-being.

Yesterday I was really scared.

I thought I was going to lose him.

I’m glad I was offered to try this simple treatment and I’m glad he’s still around.

Dr. Omaboe: "How I discovered acupuncture by accident, and it changed my life."

Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
I stumbled upon an ancient Chinese tradition that changed my life - acupuncture.

It made me realize the power of holistic healing, and I will forever be grateful for it.

I recall the wise words of Dr. Allen Schoen when he and his wife stayed with us in Nyon.

Fond memories of enlightening discussions fill my thoughts.

As head of The Animal Medical Center's Department for Acupuncture--a renowned hospital worldwide--

he had left me with the knowledge that would prove invaluable on my journey towards mastering

this ancient art form.

I soaked up everything he said for a chance to learn more about this ancient art.

So, determined to expand my knowledge, I booked early flights from Geneva on weekends

to attend courses in Zurich.

map of China
Nothing could satisfy my hunger for knowledge and wisdom until a dear Chinese friend connected me

with top-notch doctors who provided firsthand insight into Beijing life and their craftsmanship.

Although spring had arrived, I was not feeling the most vibrant when I set out from the home to China with

the ambition of learning Chinese acupuncture.
China
After settling into my upgraded room at a cozy Peking Sheraton, it dawned on me that something was off.

Everyone around me seemed dressed in light and airy summer garments.

At the same time, I stood struggling against bouts of shivering despite wearing multiple layers.

I had been fortunate enough to receive an upgrade to my hotel room - it was comfortable and more than I'd expected.

The amount of money my Professor was earning was dwarfed by the exorbitant amount of money

I spent on my hotel room.

I found the situation indecent; it made me feel ill; voicing this opinion aloud got us both talking about solutions.

The Professor suggested looking into university dorms, which seemed like a reasonable idea in theory – until I opened

the door and revealed its dismal state: dark, depressing, and even frightening at times!
old bath tub
A feeling of dread descended upon me as I lay on the cold hospital gurney.

The adjoining bathroom had been neglected; rusted shower heads and broken claw foot bathtubs

added to my discomfort. But what terrified me was two gaping holes in the wall that seemed like

they could lead right into an abyss filled with disease-ridden rodents waiting for their next meal - namely, myself!

Without any blankets or warmth from outside sources, it was almost impossible to get some respite during my stay there.

My would-be slumber, plagued by nightmares, kept stealing away nearly all of my little sleep while holding this lingering

sensation of being exposed nakedly vulnerable within its frigid grasp...
Hotel room
I was torn between the icy chill of my lonely room and the comfort of The Sheraton.

A ward, a billowing comforter, and plenty of pillows almost lured me away from this waking nightmare

of a cold, dark place where I'd spent the night.
sunlight through window
When the sun rose, I awoke to begin anew, continuing my training under the Professor's watchful eye.

Mid-day saw me needing a reprieve from the rigorous endeavor - I returned to my quarters for a quick rest.

After a few days, I was amazed at how the room had changed.

Though its walls were still full of holes and seemed cold and run-down, there now lay an air of innocence - as if

nothing sinister had ever happened.

A ray of dusty sunlight penetrated through a single window illuminating this truth to me further;

all these fixtures were just old things left behind in time's passage for which no blame could be assigned

nor fault found.

So when I asked the nurse at my university dorm if they had any spare blankets, she gave me two without hesitation.

This is because she understands why such items would benefit someone like me.
blankets
With the Professor's help, I could stop my uncontrollable shivering.

After two acupuncture sessions, it stopped altogether, and warmth filled me - despite nothing but grey skies

punctured by glimpses of bright sunshine outside.

The bitter cold had been replaced by sunshine that quickly cheered me up, allowing me to shed multiple sweaters

and start feeling at home in the once-forsaken place.

After three days, I no longer wanted anything as the university staff kept it meticulously clean every day -

what was previously an unpleasant stay now seemed filled with contentment and comfort.

cooking Chinese food
Every morning, I would gaze out my bedroom window to view the peaceful park bustling with activity.

Then it was time for me to embark on a journey of discovery: through the streets and up towards

that majestic hospital building - where knowledge awaited!

Along my walk, I couldn't help but be lured in by the aromas of hot food bubbling away from an old cart,

so each day began with a wholesome breakfast prepared before my eyes.

With its delightful combination of eggy goodness mixed with vegetables, all wrapped up in dough within

newspaper-like wrappers – how could one not love this simple yet satisfying start? As if this wasn't enough,

there'd be time spare at the entrance while purchasing myself a drink, ensuring energy levels stayed high until

lunchtime arrived back at staff quarters.

Life had become as sweet as honey - these were mornings well spent!
acupuncture, Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
Afterward, I journeyed to the hospital building under my mentor's guidance for personalized lessons.

He coached me on precision-based practices like hand positions and wrist angles.

He quizzed me on therapeutic programs - finally permitting treatment of patients within its walls.

My experience was liberating, opening my eyes to the possibility of a life full of joy and contentment,

no matter the financial resources.

It gave me back my power; I could take something as small as needles in my pocket yet use them to heal

any living thing that crossed my path.

To top it off, when I returned home this time, I had certification -

not only in acupuncture but also in Traditional Chinese medicine!

Homeopathy

A Geneva veterinarian who practices homeopathic medicine uses natural remedies to treat animals instead

of relying only on pharmaceutical drugs or surgery.

Homeopathy involves using natural substances to stimulate the body's healing process and

helps restore balance in an animal's health.

Geneva veterinarians who practice homeopathy understand the importance of utilizing natural remedies

to help animals without relying on medications or surgery.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
As a veterinarian, I'm always trying to find new ways to combine Western Science with alternative healing.

Homeopathy is one of the most potent treatment forms to help pets feel better and live longer.

The gentle yet effective approach of homeopathic remedies makes it an excellent option for treating any pet.

Homeopathy works by allowing the body to heal without harsh chemicals or drugs.

Homeopathy uses natural substances such as herbs and plants to restore balance in the body, allowing it to function optimally.

It does this by providing tiny doses of natural substances that stimulate the body's healing response and promote balance in the system.

Because homeopathic remedies are so potent and safe, they can be used safely on any animal.

At my practice in Mies near Geneva, I combine homeopathy with traditional veterinary medicine to provide the best care possible for my patients.

By combining Western Science and alternative healing techniques such as homeopathy, I can give pets a more comprehensive level of care that addresses physical and emotional concerns.

This combination of treatments helps ensure that each pet gets the specific care they need, which can help them stay happy and healthy for years to come.

I Discovered Homeopathy at the Least Probable Place

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to train with one of the world's top veterinary surgeons.

Dr. De Angelis had trained several university professors and surgery department heads.

This was not only an opportunity to train with a legend, but I was also to be his only trainee, which made it

a one-on-one experience.

Then it happened.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
My right wrist began to ache in a way that no ordinary painkillers could dull.

We were performing over 25 surgeries a day without fail. With each second of discomfort,

I felt crushed, as though all my dreams of becoming a surgeon were being snatched away from me.

Even so, when I confessed this distressing news to the doctor, he instructed me not to worry;

to take a homeopathic remedy every five minutes, and return to surgery as soon as it stopped hurting.

Within fifteen minutes, I emerged unburdened by such intense physical discomfort and was ready for action again!
homeopathy, Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
I had always been skeptical of homeopathy, believing it was nonsense based on what

my university professors taught me.

However, once I experienced its power for myself and saw firsthand how effective these treatments

could improve patients' lives, all previous doubts suddenly disappeared.

It is irresponsible to pass judgment without any experience with something firsthand;

until then, I was also guilty of this ignorance towards alternative medicines like homeopathy.

Nowadays, though, things are different. Not only do I use them regularly when treating patients

but I am also constantly amazed by their healing potential.

Bioresonance

Geneva veterinarians who practice bioresonance therapy use low-frequency sound waves to treat physical,

emotional, and mental disorders.

This therapy is believed to effectively reduce stress, increase energy levels, boost immunity, and more.

Geneva veterinarians who specialize in this therapy know its therapeutic effects and can provide your pet

with some of  the best care possible.
bioresonance, Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
Bioresonance is a holistic approach of medicine based on scientific principles and practical experience.

As a veterinarian in the Geneva area, bioresonance is a powerful tool for treating pets

and animals with gentleness.

Unlike traditional Western medicine, bioresonance combines elements of alternative healing

with modern science to create an individualized plan for your pet's health and well-being.

Using bioresonance therapy can help identify underlying issues in your pet's body that may be

causing discomfort or disease.

With bioresonance therapy, we can help restore balance and harmony within the body, helping them

heal naturally without relying in some cases on heavy medications or surgery.

Here is how bioresonance works: bioresonance transmits frequencies through the body to help identify

many imbalances or problems.

Ozone Therapy

Dr. N.J. Omaboe giving a lecture on ozone therapy
As a geneva area veterinarian, I'm passionate about combining Western Science with alternative healing

to provide the best treatment for your pet.

I'm excited to offer ozone therapy as an additional treatment option.

Ozone therapy is a holistic approach that uses activated oxygen molecules to treat various medical conditions in pets.

This natural and non-invasive method has been used for decades to improve overall health, reduce inflammation, and

reduce pain in animals.

It can help improve circulation, decrease free radicals, kill bacteria and viruses, and stimulates the immune system.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
Dr. N.J. Omaboe giving a lecture on ozone therapy
Ozone therapy can effectively treat common ailments such as allergies, skin issues, and joint pains without the need

for drugs or surgery. It can also be used in conjunction with other therapies to help reduce the side effects of

traditional treatments. Additionally, ozone therapy is gentle and safe for your pet, allowing them to relax and

enjoy the healing process without fear of pain or discomfort.

How does ozone therapy work?

When administered, ozone enters the body through various routes

(topical application, injection, or rectal) and interacts with cells to stimulate their functioning.

It works by stimulating the production of oxygen molecules in cells and aiding the elimination of toxins while

inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and viruses.

At my veterinary practice, I'm dedicated to providing your pet with personalized care that focuses on

treating both physical and emotional issues.

Due to Oscar's constant scratching and chewing of his paws, he lived under bandages.

Oscar's mom did not follow my recommendations and sought the help of an expert dermatologist instead.

Life had become unbearable for Oscar and the whole family.

After 2 years of following the instructions of a specialist dermatologist, Oscar's owner had lost hope

and even contemplated euthanasia.

As a last resort, she returned to Cabinet Vétérinaire International and decided to try my combination of ozone

Oscar became scratch-free after only a few weeks of easy, stress-free therapy.

Oscar has not scratched since his ozone and bioresonance therapy two years ago.

ATTENTION: Do You Want to Give Your Pet the Best Chance

For a Speedy Recovery?

Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva, stressed dog
We understand how stressful sometimes it can be for you and your furry companion to go to the vet,

but did you know that medical research shows stress increases pain sensitivity and slows recovery?

That’s why we want to share 3 reasons on how reducing stress will  help your pet heal faster.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International,Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva, stressed dog
Reducing stress can
  • Help boost the immune system
  • Increase response to treatments or medications
  • Produce more endorphins- natural pain relievers
These will help ensure your pet's health is a top priority.

Treats might be a great way to reward good behavior, but they may do more harm than good

when managing stress levels.

Studies have shown that when pets are too stressed out, they either refuse to take a treat or

accept it and become excited in search mode.

Neither of these two reactions is what we want.

In other words this means that you need to select a Geneva veterinarian that pets love going to

and that doesn't use bribes.

We hope this list of 3 reasons based on scientific research has helped you understand why

iIt's crucial to reduce stress levels when going to the vet

It is essential to create an environment where your pet feels safe and secure.

By noticing your pet’s reaction to a veterinarian, you can help your pet better.

When it comes to veterinary care for your pet, nothing is more important than listening

to your four-legged friend’s body language.

At Cabinet Vétérinaire International, we treasure the moments when our clients tell us how much

their animals appreciate being treated with care and kindness.

So if you’re looking for veterinary care that goes the extra mile,
observe carefully to what your pet is showing you.

Nothing warms our hearts more than to see feline patients purring contentedly at the prospect

of receiving help from us or canine companions joyfully wagging their tails in gratitude.

We demonstrate genuine devotion to every furry friend that comes through our door – no bribes needed!

Hear our clients describe how their pets tell them how they

experience coming to Cabinet Vétérinaire International:

I’ve told a lot of my friends about this and when I relate what Cordy has

They just thought of Cordy incredibly.

They just took everything about him into consideration and

just took the best care of him.

Although we have confidence in the abilities of our team, we don’t forget that surgery is a new experience for our patients.

But what does this experience look like for them?

What is their experience of surgery and of our practice?

To answer this question, we asked a few of our clients what they felt and thought before and after the surgical intervention.

They also described to us below how their animal experienced the surgery performed by us.

Needless to say, the responses we received were amazing! Keep reading to see what they had to say

How I Got to be Trained by One of the Top
Veterinary Surgeons in the World

taxi New York
People often ask me how I got to be trained by one of the top veterinary surgeons in the world.

Mentally traveling back in time to my surgical training in New York, I remember:

After hailing a taxi at the airport, I called out the address I had scrawled on a napkin in a coffee shop.

Without a word, the cab driver stuck the sedan in slow-moving traffic.

The horns honked. Other taxis were spewing disjointed syllables.

I focused on the napkin instead of risking eye contact in the rearview mirror.

My house would be called this.

The cab spits out into a flow of traffic in bumper-to-bumper airport traffic.
New York taxi
As the speedometer climbed, the car sailed through neighborhoods filled with sprawling homes,

gleaming BMWs and Mercedes Benzes, upscale shops, and weekday amblers dressed well enough for church...

My dreams of luxurious living quarters were short-lived, however.

luxury house
Instead of pristine, manicured lawns, bare patches of dirt and cracked concrete were visible.

There was a gray haze hanging over battered storefronts, and a crooked line of people snaked

around buildings and disappeared into cardboard-filled alleys.

Suddenly, the cab slowed down.

As I gazed out the windshield, I hoped to see a traffic light, a stopped car, a stop sign, a pedestrian crossing...

anything that would have indicated the driver was stopping for a reason other than signaling my arrival.

As he turned toward the back seat, he turned on the hazard lights. In the midst of a crowd of dirty,

lost-looking people, he pointed toward a door. There you have it.

In my stomach, I fought against a knot of tension. In the back of my mind,

I fought the urge to tell the cab driver I was returning to the airport and heading home.

My facial expression must have conveyed what I was feeling. "That's where you live," he said urgently.

When I sensed that his next words would be, "Get out," I paid and coaxed my legs out of the taxi.

homeless
The cabbie helped me lift my trunk filled with books from the cab.

In those moments, I felt naked, like a turtle dragging its shell across the sidewalk after losing its shell.

The people passed me like river water flowing around a boulder. For them, it seemed so natural.

They didn't even need to look at me.

I excused myself and rang the grimy doorbell through a pod of poor, dirty people.

When it opened, it revealed a man covered in tubes - one for each crevice of his face.

With each breath, I heard gurgling, bubbling sounds similar to drowning. I hesitated for a moment.

The huddle of bodies on the sidewalk made me want to step inside, but I also feared what lay within.

What if the accommodations were as eerie as the landlord?

door
As he stepped to the side, he gurgled, "Come in!"

I stepped into the darkness. I closed the door behind me, blocking out most of the street noise.

Do you feel hungry?" He bubbled. "I can prepare breakfast for you."

I took another closer look at the man and his condition, which was obviously post-surgical.

"No thanks, I'm fine."

"Are you certain?" He asked. "We include it in the rent."

"Perhaps tomorrow," I replied.

As I struggled to lift the trunk up the stairs, hoping that it wouldn't rip the carpet, he climbed ahead of me.

"I hope you weren't scared by the crowd outside."

"Uh, no, they're fine," I murmured.

He gestured toward a metal door on the other side of a curtain of bars and said,

"It turns out the city ran out of money to keep all the mental institutions running."

"Well, maybe I shouldn't call them lunatics," he said after adjusting a tube. Really, they're harmless.

There were many of them who had bad shakes or who got caught up in drugs."

"I see," I replied, trying to hide my horror.

The prospect of a room behind bars no longer sounded so bad.
chair
The room was sparsely furnished with a wooden chair, a twin bed, and an oriental rug that had seen better days.

Breathing became difficult in the oppressive heat.

The city was experiencing its hottest summer in 80 years.

The lack of airflow inside the apartment made it even hotter.

Sitting in the wooden chair, I contemplated my next move. There was a growl in my stomach.

I felt my tongue clench against the roof of my mouth. Despite being tired, I was too hot, hungry,

and thirsty to sleep.

Normally, I would have eagerly explored the city to see what regional food it offered.

I was now concerned for my safety on the streets of New York City.

I looked out my grimy window pane at the people outside the front door, a story below.

Their speech was monotonous and broken. They shared cigarettes and scratched their noses viciously.

Their eyes darted in every direction. They seemed to be afraid of something...but I was afraid of them.

If I walked out there, would they attack me? Are they going to rob me? Or taunt me?

What about after I return? Would it be possible to get back in the house?

After all, they were numerous, and I was alone.

My mind struggled to comprehend the gruesome possibilities.

To distract my brain, I pulled out a medical book from the trunk and began reading.

My attention began to wane. I had to eat. The question is, how and where?

I felt my fear of the city grows again. My stomach growled.

There was no denying it - I needed food. After all, what options did I have?

Would I like to die under these miserable conditions?

So I repacked my belongings into the trunk and locked it, putting the key into my pants pocket,

along with the key to the front door the landlord gave me.

After deep breaths and pushing my shoulders back, I began to descend the stairs.

stairs
After I opened the front door, the people outside silently eyed me with sadness but then returned

to their half-hearted conversation, allowing me to pass.

My dinner consisted of roasted chicken and a tomato salad, which I devoured whole.

As I walked back to my room, I encountered no trouble. While I navigated around the crowd waiting to get

into the homeless shelter next to my new "home," I felt as though I did not even exist for them.

My studies took place six days a week at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, originally called

the New York Women's League for Animals. The organization's history as an anti-cruelty organization and

its modern reputation for cutting-edge veterinary care made the stay critical to my success.

I recently began building my own veterinary clinic in Switzerland with a business partner.

Our team struggled to determine who would take on new clients and who would handle emergency calls...

so instead, I went to New York. To gain ideas for our own Swiss practice, I would visit American veterinary practices

and see what equipment they used and how their clinics were built.

My partner would remain behind, managing our budding business.

Certainly, I would periodically check on progress in Switzerland, but for now, my focus had to be on

acquiring the necessary information and education to make our animal clinic a top-notch one.

I began each day by examining and caring for hospitalized patients at 7 a.m.

There was no lunchtime, other than chewing during exams and between patients.

It was usual for me to work until around 6:30 or 7 p.m., then attend classes until about 9 p.m.

Emergency services often followed classes at night.

New York
I toured veterinary hospitals when I wasn't attending classes, participating in clinics, or studying.

On Sundays, when I had no classes, and most practices were closed, I treated myself to a large New York-style

pizza or a big fillet of bluefish with rice - a departure from my usual meals, which often consisted of salami,

cheese, or ham on a tortilla.

Eventually, I moved from the room that I was renting near the homeless shelter into a more modest

but better situated apartment I shared with another doctor.

When I had scrutinized every veterinary clinic in Manhattan's yellow pages,

I approached my trusted friend, Martin Q., who had been a radiology technician

at the Animal Medical Center for many years.

Having served in Vietnam and been injured, he studied veterinary medicine in Italy and

then moved back to the states, where I met him. Along with being well-traveled, he also had

a number of connections within the veterinary community.

He knew every New York City veterinarian by name.

Martin would surely be able to guide me.

Are there any good clinics you can recommend for me?" I asked him.

"A hospital with a high standard of care and well-equipped facilities?""

"Only the best," he smiled. "Doctor Martin De Angelis."

"Wow! You know him ?" I gasped. "He's a veterinary surgery rock star."

Do you want me to ask him if you can visit him?"

"Yes! Of course !" I shouted.

At first, I was jubilant - I couldn't contain my excitement at meeting Doctor De Angelis.

Soon, though, my spirits began to sink.

Surely, this was too good to be true. I thought it was unlikely to work out.

The weeks passed. In fact, I almost forgot about visiting the prestigious veterinarian...

and that's when it happened.
writing
As I reviewed the day's cases at my desk, a hand slammed something onto the desk from behind me.

A business card was in front of me - and it was not just any business card.

This was the business card of Dr. Martin De Angelis.

Martin Q. circled the desk, a grin spreading across his face.

"Call him." The man is waiting for your call."

"Really ?"

"Yes, absolutely. "He would like to schedule a visit with you."

Thanking him, I tried my best to control my breathing. Me? Meet Doctor De Angelis?

I might as well be meeting President Obama, Michael Jackson, or Oprah Winfrey.

What would I say?

On the phone, how would I introduce myself?

If we met in person, what would we talk about?

I felt a sickening sensation well up in my belly as the questions swirled violently through my head.

It was imperative that I regained control. He was expecting my call, and I didn't want to make him wait.

While my fingers trembled, I picked up the phone to place a call to the number on the card.

"Hi, Doctor De Angelis." The voice cut through the line with confidence.

'Yes, Doctor De Angelis, I am Nortey Omaboe.'

Ah, yes, I've been waiting for your call. I've heard great things about you."

The conversation ended with him inviting me to visit Village Animal Clinic in Westchester.
grand central
As suggested by a colleague, I would be able to get there most conveniently by train,

so I experienced Grand Central Station for the first time.

A flurry of activity and a vast number of bodies gave me a sense of how many people lived and worked there.

The train station was magnificent - it took my breath away.

Upon boarding the crowded train, I took in the scenery that rushed by like smeared watercolors.

Following Harlem, the train stopped in every neighborhood bearing its own discomforting signature.

The area was filled with homeless people and derelict homes.

My feelings at my arrival in the city welled up again, causing me to entertain the idea of staying on the train.

However, I also remembered the triumph of that first New York chicken and tomato salad.

While closing my eyes, I recalled how proud I had been of myself for bravely navigating the streets,

questionable characters, odors, and unusual sights.

Something had changed when I opened them. Was this something? Green?

During the train's route, it passed through ghettos and suburbs.

Gradually, the landscape became more open and inviting.

The vivid green of trees and grass soothed the spirit as if I had forgotten what open space looked like.

The countryside was stunning - a welcome relief from the dirty, hectic streets of the city.

green trees
As it turned out, I was not met by one of doctor De Angelis's technicians but by him, who met me at the door

and shook my hand.

"This way," he said. "Let's talk in my office."

We spoke about my aspirations for veterinary medicine back in Switzerland, my studies and experience,

and his practice for three or four hours.

He rose from his chair and said, "It's time for surgery." "How about scrubbing in?" he asked.

I'll start in twenty minutes."

My jaw dropped. Really? Did this world-famous doctor invite me to work alongside him?

I fought the urge to bow, replying, "I would be honored."

"But I have only performed a few basic surgical procedures."

I felt like a skiing student invited to ski with an Olympian on a black diamond slope.

I felt insecure. Shyness threatened to overwhelm me.

"Nonsense, let me show you a few things."

Show me a few things, he did.
surgery
As soon as the surgeries were completed, he asked,

"What are you doing on Friday? Would you like to return for more? "

"Oh, I would love to," I pouted, "but I must return to Switzerland for a month."

"Then what ?"

"Training at the Ohio State University."

He purred, "What is the name of the professor?"

As soon as I mentioned the professor's name to the doctor, he replied,

"Yes, he was one of my surgical training residents."

He briefly studied my face before continuing. "What would you prefer, training there or here with me?"

Suddenly, my vision went white-hot.

Did I just receive the invitation of my dreams?

I went through what could be considered a pro-and-con thought process, but it only took a few seconds.

In Ohio, I would be just another number.

My training with Doctor De Angelis would be tailored to me, with every question directly

answered by one of the world's best surgeons, I would receive immediate feedback on all my medical decisions

and every movement I made, and I would be his only trainee... "Here, with you!" I exclaimed.

The agreement was that I would begin training in one or two months.
surgery teams
As I left the Animal Medical Center in New York, the director Dr. Bill Kay explained to me that it had big donors.

Additionally, these affluent pet lovers traveled worldwide.

He asked if, when in Europe, any of these animal lovers' pets fell ill, would I agree that he refer them to me directly?

The words I had just heard were unbelievable.

The director of one of the world's best veterinary hospitals just asked me if I would accept the responsibility

of caring for the pets of the donors, the lifeline of his institution.

Of course, I said. What an honor...!

The level of expertise and friendliness I experienced during my stay in New York was unparalleled in my life.

Veterinarians in Switzerland are often (not all) guarded...unfriendly, and jealous.

The kindness and generosity I received here were beyond my wildest dreams.

As a result, my outlook changed. In Switzerland, I would have waited for this for years, decades,

or even forever. However, not in New York.

Cabinet Vétérinaire International, Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
From my American experience, I brought everything I learned about protocols, facilities, equipment,

and procedures to my brand-new Swiss veterinary clinic.

I was expecting my very first child with my wife. It was perfect...except that my business partner and I couldn't agree.

Our visions for the clinic contrasted; we had trouble finding something in common.

Homecoming should have been a dream come true. In reality, it was a nightmare.

As my wife and I pulled away from the Swiss Post with our mail, we discussed how we would weather the storms.

Her eyes roamed over the pile of mail we had just retrieved from the post office.

She exclaimed, "It's a postcard from Doctor De Angelis.".

Suddenly, her voice changed pitch. "It asks, What are you doing? "I was looking forward to seeing you last week."

I ducked into a parking spot and in a phone booth nearby, tapped his number.

"Doctor, this is Nortey. My apologies for any confusion. My plan was not to return to the US for another week."

"Well, get here, come on," he responded.

Two days later, my wife, unborn baby, dog, and I left for New York.
New York skyline
The first day I was there, I assisted in the operating room, and I worked in the clinic every day for the rest of my stay.

Everything seemed to be falling into place...in a place that wasn't in the original plan.

My conflict was highlighted when the doctor asked me to take over his New York practice.

I replied, "I'm flattered, but I just took credit for building my clinic in Switzerland."

I wanted nothing more than to remain at Village Animal Clinic, and as I pondered my options over the next few days,

it seemed that the problem had been solved. My business partner informed me that he was leaving.

He had purchased another veterinary clinic in Geneva. He no longer wanted to work with me, and I could run the clinic however I pleased.

As a result, I returned to Switzerland and opened Cabinet Vétérinaire International.

The experiences I had in the states prepared me for what lay ahead.

I was educated and primed for success by them. I would see my dreams come true – but not in New York.

Dr. Omaboe: "My Story"

Most pet owners hate seeing their pets sick and dread the day when they will have to say goodbye.

Yet many have no idea what they can do to try to delay this terrible moment as long as possible.

I have made it my mission to help anyone who finds themselves destitute, without the support, and

stuck in such a situation.

When I was a child, I lost my best friend, my dog Prince due to the joint neglect of several veterinarians.

They had resorted to quick fixes that concealed the symptoms rather than looking for the real cause of his illness

so they could treat him properly.

On the night Prince died, I promised him and myself that I would become a veterinarian

and do everything to ensure that no pet died prematurely when another option is available.

Never again will a pet owner be deprived of the opportunity to choose a better solution.
Cabinet Vétérinaire International, Geneva Veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva
Animals do not necessarily fall ill or have an accident only during office hours.

Thus, for more than 3 decades, my vocation has been to be available 24/7 for animals who need it.

Practicing in this way daily imparts unique experiences and skills that provide you and your

pet with peace, comfort, and security.

Petcentric Care™ is the solution.

Do you know that your pet doesn’t have to suffer pain or even discomfort when vet offices

are closed no matter the day or time?

I know this may sound crazy because we are so used to hearing that you have to wait until

the usual practice opens in order to get your pet treated.

While this is important, I’m going to share big mistakes that many pet owners make

and quickly talk about a new approach to veterinary care.

This will revolutionize the way you think about your pet’s ability to live longer and pain-free.

I am Dr. N.J. Omaboe and I am the founder and owner of Cabinet Vétérinaire International.

I have relieved thousands of animals of pain and discomfort experienced

during veterinary emergencies over the past 3 decades.

So what is this new approach to veterinary care?

This is Petcentric care™, that is to say, centered on your animal.

This means that your pet’s interest comes first before the rest and interest of the veterinarian,

as well as before any other consideration.

This kind of care is given without restriction.

This allows your pet to live a healthier, happier, and longer life.

Can human doctors treat animals?

Is It Safe for Human Doctors to Treat Animals?

Article Outline:
I. Introduction
II. Why Human Doctors Cannot Treat Animals
III. Drugs that can be Poisonous to Animals
IV. Finding Veterinary Care in Geneva
V. Conclusion

I. Introduction:
It may seem like a good idea to ask your own doctor to treat your pet. Still, human physicians and veterinarians serve very different purposes. While both professions are dedicated to the health and well-being of their patients, human doctors are not allowed to treat animals due to the risks involved. This is because a simple painkiller for humans can be fatal to an animal. Even drugs that may seem harmless can have dangerous consequences if prescribed by someone who isn't trained in veterinary medicine. This article will discuss why it's best to leave animal care in the hands of a veterinarian, as well as provide information about Geneva veterinarian, veterinarian Geneva, and animal hospital Geneva.

II: Why Human Doctors Cannot Treat Animals
Human doctors specialize in human medicine, while veterinarians specialize in animal medicine. Though both provide medical care, there are significant differences between the two disciplines. For example, different animals require different dosages of medications; a dose that may be safe for humans could kill an animal if administered by someone without knowledge of veterinary medicine. Additionally, the use and effects of drugs on animals are not as well-studied as on humans – meaning even a veterinarian must be cautious when prescribing medication to an animal patient. Ultimately, this underscores why human doctors cannot treat animals – the risks are too significant, and it's best to leave animal care in the hands of a veterinarian.

III: Drugs That Can be Poisonous To Animals
In addition to the risk of incorrect dosages, certain drugs can be poisonous to animals even if administered correctly. Some common culprits include Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) such as Advil, Aleve, and Motrin; Acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol); Antidepressants (e.g., Effexor, Cymbalta, Prozac, Lexapro); and ADD/ADHD medications (e.g., Concerta, Adderall, Ritalin). It's important to note that these medications can be safe for humans but are highly dangerous for animals.

IV: Finding Veterinary Care in Geneva
There are various options if you live in the Geneva area and need veterinary care. For example, Geneva veterinarian services provide comprehensive pet care and emergency services; veterinarians in Geneva typically work with all kinds of animals, ranging from cats, dogs ,to small mammals and reptiles. Additionally, animal hospital Geneva provides specialized medical treatments such as oncology, dentistry, and surgery services. By doing your research ahead of time or asking around among friends or family who have pets, you can find the best fit for your pet's needs.

V: Conclusion
In conclusion, In order to ensure your pet receives the best care, you need to understand the differences between human and veterinary medicine. Human doctors cannot treat animals due to the risks involved; even a simple painkiller for humans can be fatal to an animal if administered by someone who isn't trained in veterinary medicine. Additionally, certain drugs can be poisonous to animals even when prescribed correctly – making it essential that all medications for pets come from a licensed veterinarian in Geneva or an animal hospital Geneva. Doing your research (see above 8 criteria for selecting your Geneva veterinarian) ahead of time can ensure Quality Care for your beloved furry companion.

Is Vet School Hard? A Look at the Challenges of Becoming a Geneva Veterinarian

Article Outline:
I. Introduction
II. In Comparison to Most Curriculums, Veterinary School is Challenging
III. A Veterinary Student Can Expect to Spend 35-40 Hours a Week in a Classroom or Laboratory
IV. A Veterinary Student Can Expect to Spend 3-7 Hours a Day Studying
V. Conclusion: The Challenges of Becoming a Geneva Veterinarian

Introduction: Becoming a veterinarian requires dedication and hard work, especially when attending veterinary school in Switzerland. For those considering becoming a Geneva veterinarian, it is important to understand the challenges that come with this endeavor, from the classroom and laboratory hours expected to the amount of study required. In this article, we will discuss the difficulties of pursuing veterinary studies in Switzerland and the realities of attending veterinary school.

In Comparison to Most Curriculums, Veterinary School is Challenging: Pursuing veterinary school can be an arduous task for many potential students due to the demanding workload and curriculum. In comparison to most general college courses, veterinary school is considered harder due to the extensive knowledge that must be attained in order to become a competent veterinarian. Veterinary students face numerous challenges, such as grasping difficult concepts quickly and remembering large amounts of information which can lead to a high level of stress.

A Veterinary Student Can Expect to Spend 35-40 Hours a Week in a Classroom or Laboratory: As part of their curriculum, veterinary students are expected to spend an average of 35-40 hours per week attending classes, lectures, or working in the laboratory. This extended amount of time dedicated solely to their education can be physically and mentally exhausting for some students leading them toward burnout if they are not able to manage their workloads correctly.

A Veterinary Student Can Expect to Spend 3-7 Hours a Day Studying: Along with the hours spent in the classroom or laboratory, veterinary students are expected to spend an additional 3-7 hours a day studying. This includes researching topics related to their classes as well as reading textbooks, reviewing notes, and preparing presentations. Some students may become physically and mentally exhausted because they spend so much time studying, leading to burnout if their workloads are not properly managed.

Conclusion: In conclusion, it is clear that becoming a Geneva veterinarian requires dedication and hard work due to the challenging curriculum and workload associated with pursuing veterinary studies in Switzerland. Veterinary students must understand what it takes to become a veterinarian Geneva, such as the hours spent in a classroom or laboratory and studying that is needed. Although the challenges of becoming a Geneva veterinarian are difficult and demanding, they can be rewarding with the right preparation and dedication.
